Dear Pitshanger Family Practice patients,
The lease the Surgery holds to occupy the Pitshanger Lane premises will be coming to an end this summer on the 30 June 2023 and the landlord has informed us that we cannot occupy this premises after this date as they wish to sell the property. We are working on a solution so that we can continue to provide care to patients registered at Pitshanger Family Practice after the 1st July 2023.
Given the circumstances we are proposing to North West London Integrated Care Board (NWLICB) that we merge Pitshanger Family Practice with the other practice we run, Boileau Road Surgery, 104 Boileau Road, Ealing W5 3AJ. This would mean that patients currently registered at Pitshanger will be transferred over to Boileau Road Surgery, along with most of the clinical and non-clinical team, so we can continue to deliver care to you from that site.
Many of the clinical and administrative team from Pitshanger already work at the Boileau Road Surgery and so there has been a partly shared workforce in place for many years. Boileau Road Surgery was newly restructured in 2010/2011 and is larger, providing 7 modern consulting rooms and admin offices. The premises also has fully compliant disability access, with an electric opening door and level access from the footpath. It is easily reachable by local buses from Pitshanger Lane and Ealing Broadway. The North Ealing tube station (Piccadilly line) is at the end of the road and West Acton Tube station (Central line) a 5-7 minute walk. We share the same clinical software as Pitshanger (Systm One), ensuring that medical records would be seamlessly transferred.
If the proposal goes ahead, we would be supported by the ICB to ensure that an effective transition plan is in place for the merger and so we hope that you would continue to stay registered at the Pitshanger Family Practice in its new location.
Please be assured that would endeavour to provide the same service from much the same team of Pitshanger Lane, just from a different nearby location. However, if any patients wished to opt to register with another nearby practice to Pitshanger Lane for any reason or due to frailty or poor mobility or vulnerability we, and the ICB, would help and provide information on how to do this, nearer the time.
We will be holding an engagement event on Thursday the 20th April between 3pm-4:30pm at the practice, at which we will present the merger plans in= more detail and be open to your feedback on our proposals. Representatives from the North West London ICB will also be= at the meeting. Alternatively, please contact the practice if you have any feedback or queries about these proposals.
We look forward to working together with you on our future plans.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!
Dr Das/ Pitshanger Family Practice team.
